Ok Lets get to the crunch of it all..... if you are going to make money online and don't want to invest any money, than learning the basics of how search engines work is your first priority (don't worry if your new to this)Just keep reading and i will explain everything step by step.

Obviously search engines are what people use to find information online such as Google, Yahoo, MSN, AOL, and so on.Now to put it in a nut shell the people who make the most money online are those that are dominating the search results, that is where the real money is.

You may say , now how the heck am i gonna do that? well my friend it's all to do with search engine optimization, don't let that scare you, by the time you've finished reading this article you will have a basic understanding of what SEO is all about.

Yes i know there's a lot of keywords involved in SEO.But without those keywords the search engines will never find you site, article , blog etc so can see how important they are to rank well.


Keywords:

Keywords are what users type into their computer when looking for information online.For instance if a user decides to search for clothing online then they might type in something like (blue cotton sweaters)and the search engine will give them the top ten results for those words.

Similar to a hound dog on the trail of a fox, the only way that fox can be found is by leaving a cent or trail,and in terms of SEO keywords are the cent that leave a trail for the search engines.



Potential To Make Money with your keywords:

Keyword research should be the first thing you do before starting any money making venture online other wise if the search engines can't find ya then no one will.

There is a cool Tool that Google offers to find the potential of any given keyword it will give you stats that are vital to your success.You can see how many monthly searches your keywords get(Global & Local)and if you are choosing to use adsense on your site your can also see what each advertiser is paying for those keywords.

As i said Google Has a free tool called Google Adword Keyword Tool this has the potential to give you a estimate of how many monthly searches any particular key word will get.It will also give you stats on global searches or local searches for your keywords.

Certain keywords may get searched for at different times during the year.... for instance if you have based your keywords around say...woolly sweaters then obviously the majority of searches would be during the winter months opposed to searches during summer, this is something that you will have to consider when doing keyword research.

Google's keyword tool is purely an estimate on the potential searches for any given key word will get,but to get better results you may want to change broad search to exact this will give you much more defined results.When doing keyword research i will basically only want to see CPC or cost per click that's if you are monetizing with Adsense.

 Global search volume and finally changing broad search to exact to get better results to simplify things a little better.   


Placing of Keywords:

Now when a search engine comes to your site, they will scan it from left to right.So placing your keyword at the beginning and end of your article is a good start.

For instance:

Blue cotton sweaters are made from the finest cotton that gives the wearer a feeling of comfort as well as style...etc....blah blah blah

Also placing your keywords through out your article will help just as much, but do not do it in a way where you thrash the heck out of the words they need to blend in with your content or article.Other wise the engines may consider your site as spam. So the main thing here is to give the reader what they want in terms of quality information and gently put your keywords into your content as naturally as possible.


Monetizing your site:

Once you have done your keyword research and found out the potential to make money with your keywords, you can then start to monetize your site and start making some money online.There are a number of ways to monetize your website by either choosing to sell Affiliate products, Placing adsense on your site or charging a small fee for advertisers to promote their products.

If you are going to sell affiliate products you will need to base your keywords around those products for instance if you are going to sell woolly jersey's you will need to enter those words into Google's keyword tool and find out if  the monthly searches justify the potential to make any money online.

Obviously the more searches you get the more chances of someone purchasing a product from your site.
